On 24th September, AEGIR co-hosted the first New European Bauhaus inquiry workshop on the perception of New European Bauhaus (NEB) values – Sustainable, Beautiful, Inclusive – and working principles: Transdisciplinary, Multi-Level Engagement, and Participatory. AEGIR, Horizon Europe- funded project, strives to apply the NEB approach at its core.
The 40 participants present, from various backgrounds and disciplines, were split into smaller groups and asked to reflect on the implementation of the NEB values and working principles in their respective EU-funded R&D projects, while also identifying remaining challenges for the future implementation of the NEB approach.
In the following section, we reflect on the results regarding NEB values and working principles. Organiser Nebula B4P, together with Architects’ Council of Europe (ACE-CAE), NTNU, InnovaWood network, Dowel innovation provided this synthesis on each of the categories discussed.

With a room full of engaged participants, the workshop generated significant interest and active involvement. Many EU-funded R&D projects expressed strong interest for community building around NEB and willingness to understand and integrate the NEB approach at the core of their initiatives in the future.
