Piñeiros’25: 5th Intersectorial encounter of the forest ecosystem of Galicia

Piñeiros’25, featuring the 5th Intersectorial encounter of the forest ecosystem of Galicia, took place on 28 October 2025 in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. AEGIR took part in the event as a contributor to the panel discussion “The future of housing: How construction with wood can transform the real estate market”, moderated by Vanesa Baño from InnovaWood.

In her introduction, Vanesa Baño presented the new EU policies shaping the wood construction sector and highlighted the AEGIR and WoodStock projects as examples of initiatives aligned with the values of the New European Bauhaus. These values promote a construction industry that is sustainable, energy efficient, beautiful, and industrialised.

This year’s edition of Piñeiros welcomed representatives from Chile and Uruguay, who shared their experiences in relation to wood species, forest management, and wood construction policies.

The discussion examined the implications of these European policies from a variety of perspectives, including:

  • public institutions involved in social and rental housing such as Nasuvinsa
  • real estate and major construction companies such as Grupo Vía Ágora
  • architects and cooperative housing promoters
  • architects from Chile who offered an international viewpoint on sustainable building practices.
