AEGIR at EU regions week 2025 | Brussels

On 15 October 2025, in Brussels, AEGIR was represented at the European week of regions and cities during the workshop Participatory lab: Empowering communities through inclusive renovation and regional sustainability.

The session brought together participants to explore how renovation can empower citizens and strengthen communities. Attendees were divided into three thematic groups:

  1. Energy communities and microgrids
  2. Volunteering in housing renovation
  3. Renovation pathways and awareness in rural areas

Representing AEGIR, Eva Čeh from InnovaWood contributed to discussions within the renovation pathways group, where she presented AEGIR’s mission and renovation approaches around Europe.

The workshop also featured insights from several EU-funded projects, including CLR, FORTESIE and RENOVERTY, which are working on inclusive and sustainable renovation practices across Europe. Their representatives included:

Clara Tripodi, Just a Change (FORTESIE)
Dr David Martin Ferge, Th!nk E (CLR)
Mara Oprea, Institute for European Energy and Climate Policy Foundation (RENOVERTY)

The session was moderated by Jan Bormans from Th!nk E (CLR), fostering an engaging exchange of ideas on how to empower citizens and regions through collaborative approaches to renovation and sustainability.
