Upcoming demos will explore PVT integration in efficient building renovation solutions
DualSun, an AEGIR project partner, is developing the next-generation SPRING hybrid PVT panel to deliver a more powerful, efficient, and building-integrated solar solution.
As part of AEGIR, DualSun is boosting the electrical performance of its panels from 190 to 210 Wp/m² by integrating high-performance photovoltaic cells and redesigning the module’s thermal and mechanical components to ensure seamless installation in building envelopes, especially rooftops.
This new generation PVT panel will combine enhanced energy efficiency, reliability, and architectural integration to meet the specific challenges of deep renovation.
Thanks to the support of the AEGIR project, DualSun will deploy two demonstration sites in 2026: one in Boën-sur-Lignon, France, using the PVT-Heat Pump, and another in Oradea, Romania, for residential pool heating. These pilots will validate the system’s contribution to building envelope renovation, its flexibility, and its potential to reduce Europe’s reliance on conventional energy sources.
DualSun has developed the next-generation SPRING PVT panel, combining photovoltaic and thermal production in a single, compact solution. This improved version is fully aligned with AEGIR’s goals to deliver more efficient, building-integrated technologies that support deep renovation strategies.
The new SPRING PVT panel is:
The SPRING PVT panels are not stand-alone solutions, but smart components fully compatible with AEGIR’s multi-technology renovation packages, enabling synergies with insulation, heat pumps, and smart energy management systems.
Both sites will demonstrate complete building renovations with measurable energy savings, improved user comfort, and system reliability in real-life conditions.
Through the AEGIR project, DualSun’s innovation contributes to demonstrating the practical feasibility of integrated renovation solutions that can be deployed across Europe to meet ambitious climate and energy targets.
